Competence and Safety are the primary focus at Oak Hill Scuba, Austin's Beginner, Advanced and Technical diving headquarters. Oak Hill Scuba emphasizes safe diving, competent training, and affordable dive trips, as well as one of the most extensive selections of Scuba equipment in Texas. However, while other shops advertise a large selection of different colors for their basic equipment, Oak Hill Scuba focuses more on the proper and safe use of any and all equipment used for diving. Our staff of instructors includes several instructors who have dove, and taught diving, across the globe. Our range of instruction ranges from the basic Open Water courses to Technical diving instruction in such areas as mixed gas and extended range diving.
Oak Hill Scuba is more than just a retail outlet. Besides sales, training, service and travel, Oak Hill Scuba is a social environment. We enjoy customers coming by to browse or to just chat about diving. It's a great way to meet future dive buddies. Come by and share with us your latest diving adventure or talk about your upcoming trip. Don't be surprised if we try to scheme a way to fit into your luggage.
We are a NAUI Technical Training Facility, as well as a PADI Dive Center and DAN Business Center. Our instructors are certified to teach NAUI, PADI, SDI, TDI and more. NAUI has a well deserved reputation as the most meticulous and thorough of the major dive agencies, as well as being the oldest. The emphasis is on safe diving, as well as the development of the confidence and knowledge that is essential in the competent Scuba diver. At Oak Hill Scuba, you're not just certified, you're qualified.
The sales associates at Oak Hill Scuba will not pressure you to buy a particular brand or model of merchandise. We carry products by a number of manufacturers to give you a wide choice in your equipment selection. We will advise you on how different equipment should fit and how it operates. The ultimate choice is yours. We want the equipment to fit properly and meet your expectations. Above all, we want you to be happy with your equipment purchase.
To keep your gear working properly, it needs to be well maintained and periodicaly serviced. The service department at Oak Hill Service can perform annual service on most any brand of regulator. Our technicians are factory certified for all the brands we carry. If you have a brand that we do not carry, we send it to one of our affiliate repair centers to maintain the manufacturer's warranty. Feel free to bring your gear in any time and we will perform a courtesy check of your equipment to make sure it is working properly.
Oak Hill Scuba has the largest, most capable fill station in central Texas. If necessary, we can fill up to 12 tanks at a time. If you are involved in technical diving, Oak Hill Scuba is the only dive center in central Texas that can fill your tanks to your specifications. From hypoxic trimix to pure O2, we have the equipment to make it happen. Our booster pump allows us to obtain your desired mix without completely draining your tanks. That saves you time and money.
The diving experience has many different avenues, and at Oak Hill Scuba, we are prepared to facilitate your enjoyment in the areas of your choice. We offer affordable trips to dive locations across the country and around the world. We can help you book spots on a group trip, or arrange your own private get away. Oak Hill Scuba will assist you in any way possible to put your dream vacation together.
Another aspect that our shop offers, which is unique in the Austin area, is our group of underwater hunters, whose joy in life is sitting on a cross beam of an oil rig, spearing large game fish 30 miles out in the gulf. If fighting a large amberjack or Grouper up to the surface from 100', all the time realizing that for once, you are not the alpha predator in the immediate environment, appeals to you, then contact our shop, and come in and learn about true hunting. And we don't care what color your spear gun is, and neither do the fish.
Our bottom line is that after becoming associated with our shop, either with training or activities, you'll become a safer and more confident diver. And we think that's more important than making an underwater fashion statement.
