By far, one of the easiest ways to scuba dive. With sidemounts, you don't put on your tanks until you are in the water. Great for people with lower back problems.
In normal recreational diving you have a single regulator system. A single failure in that system can quickly lead to panic and crisis. Diving sidemounts, you have two completely seperate tank and regulator systems. If there is a failure in either one, you simply shut it down and make a normal safe ascent on the other system.
With a regualr BCD set up, you wear the additional weight you need somewhere down around your waist. When diving sidemounts, the weight is more evenly distributed along your torso, which makes it much easier to maintain a good diving profile in the water. That leads to less resistance and more dive time.
Most recreational divers consume thier air supply well before the computer or dive tables tell them that it is time to go up. When you are diving sidemounts, you have a whole additional tank of air at your disposal. This allows you to maximize your bottom time.
The benefits of sidemount diving go on and on. For more information, stop by the shop or give us a call. We'll be happy to tell you about the benefits of sidemount diving.
